Obesity 🤔🫀🫁🧠

A study conducted by Lancet this year found that 12.5 million children and teens are obese in 2022 which was 0.4 million in 1990.

The rate of obesity is doubled and poor people are at greater risk.

We Indians are usually skinny fat.

Even a slim fit looking person has more fatty tissues than lean tissues.

And obesity as we all know is root cause of various metabolic diseases like Type diabetes, heart attacks and other cardiovascular diseases.

The changing nature of Indian economy like jobs, foods, lifestyles are adding obesity to grow.

While Indian meals majorly revolve around carbs, the easy availability of packed food products are filling our body with empty calories and zero nutrition.

Our gut microbiota regulates diet absorption and fat accumulation if our gut health is affected than it is very obvious that our body will continue piling up kilos.

So, be mindful when you are eating something.

By all means ultra processed foods should be avoided.

We Indians eat chapati daily so add ragi and bajra flour with wheat while making the dough.

Fresh green leafy vegetables, legumes, whole grains, nuts and seeds should be the mainstay of our diets.

Intermittent fasting which earlier was considered as a secret for weight loss is now under scrutiny as it has been linked to heart diseases.

So we should try to make a link between calories intake and calories burnt in a day.

Plan your day, plan your meal.

This is how you respect your body.

Never stop trying as we say 'Even if you fall on your face, you're still moving forward '.
